On 3 October 2014, the Swedish Chemicals Agency (SCA) published a report on chemicals in textiles and their risks to human health and the environment. In its report, the SCA noted that textile consumption within the EU and in Sweden is continuously increasing, and that, although a large amount of chemicals is being used in textile production, only a few of these chemical substances are subject to regulation.
